Remember the days in early April when the news was filled with the idea that Sweden would be at herd immunity by May based on a preprint mathematical model with a single author?pic.twitter.com/u1pTcOqrs2

Also June. And July. He appears to have finally seen the light and recently said lockdown would have saved thousands.

At least they are (finally) admitting they were wrong unlike some others who are still not ready to give up on that pipe dream...

Yes, and Sweden's ambassador to the US was touting the same bullshit.

Let's temper the "news was filled." The only thing the news was filled w in April was that Sweden was going to all be dead by now and the world was short ventilators and PPE, that kids were getting Kawasaki disease, that everyone on holiday at beaches were 2 weeks away from dying

Yep, the headlines were mostly based on this preprint, that predicted ~60% infection rate by mid-Mayhttps://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.15.20066050v2 …

I've noticed even some Tory- leaning medicos who don't want lockdowns in the UK seeming to be quite cross about and/or basically ignoring Australia and Victoria.
