Should be noted for the people who misunderstand - herd immunity is about CASES. By definition, if you have a massive epidemic, the population is not at herd immunity

A simple way to explain this is the common cold. No one claims that we have "herd immunity" to the cold, despite it being relatively mild. It's just an endemic disease

Ok I've been informed that the common cold is a ~terrible~ example. A better one might be measles or mumps pre vaccination

That will be, um, never. How does never sound? Trying to "reason" with a herd immunity proponent is like trying to persuade a climate change denier.pic.twitter.com/qlhC42Zy4s

Actually I would be interested to hear an actual debate on both of these issues between the two sides. Any you can point to?

I had a discussion with one of those, who did not want to believe that sweden is basically following austrias infection curve by 7 - 10 days. She said I was painting doomsday scenarii. I gave her 4 weeks to see it.. sweden again is 7 days behind us in their infection numbers!
