      7) Even IF such a pre-existing T cell immunity exists, those people are still susceptible to infection. COVID-19 disease severity for them would be less bad. Consistent with statements of CDC director Redfield and Fauci that 90% of Americans are still susceptible to infection.

That thread is literally misinformation Prof Crotty (THE AUTHOR OF THE STUDY) again here:https://twitter.com/profshanecrotty/status/1293344524731691008?s=20 …

1/ There are various tweets misinterpreting COVID-19 “pre-existing immunity” and making dangerous claims about herd immunity. Since many of those claims refer to our scientific papers, we will reiterate the facts. @SetteLab @ljiresearch @ScienceMagazine @CellCellPress pic.twitter.com/gCZwFMW1iU

Another question - you're relying rather heavily on Prof Crotty's papers to make this erroneous argument. Have you read them?

Yes Spooky Health Nerd I have, but more's the point, the pattern the virus follows, country to country proves herd immunity. Put the papers down and look out the window

That's a nonsensical statement, and completely contradicted by the evidence. There is no definition of herd immunity which includes increasing numbers of cases

I think this proves there are too many theories/papers out there, which now confuses people. Science is so complex along with opinions. Never been any different but dangerous for Governments trying to do their best for us. Who do they believe.

Not sure I agree. Governments tend to listen to the experts rather than online conspiracy theorists

I appreciate that but if those experts differ in their approach, who is right? Sweden v U.K. as example. I think it would have been better had the WHO not lost a lot of credibility.

The challenge is that policy is not really up to the experts, it is up to politicians mostly. There tends to be much less disagreement between experts about facts than what those facts entail in terms of policy

Well they must have been very different in Sweden to almost every other country, stats showing little difference in rate of death per capita but a much better way of life. Until we are through this we will never truly know what was best, or how T cells etc played their part.

That's not entirely true - Sweden did quite poorly compared to its direct neighbours despite having quite substantial changes in mobility indices
