Those statements are entirely out of line with the fact that cases are increasing in most locations in the UK. Indeed, even ignoring cases and just looking at hospitalizations and deaths it is unlikely that any place is even close to a herd immunity threshold

That's a nonsensical statement, and completely contradicted by the evidence. There is no definition of herd immunity which includes increasing numbers of cases
