2 years not remotely true. 1st: been here longer than they've said. I had it in December; thanks to tenacity of this chap's daughter we know he did too which brings 1st (known) death forward to January. 2nd the T cells mean huge % are not even susceptiblehttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8715661/Pictured-British-grandfather-84-died-Covid-19-having-caught-December.html …

This is very interesting. If proven we would need a method of identifying those with natural immunity and protect the others. But think that’s a long way away. However, it’s will also depend on how many people of the 25% non immune that means in reality.

I think given it's been here since October or November 2019 the reality is many locations are at herd immunity already & those not are close. There's a reason 17-21s testing positive they're one of the age groups that locked down the most as Uni/College/Secondary school closed

Those statements are entirely out of line with the fact that cases are increasing in most locations in the UK. Indeed, even ignoring cases and just looking at hospitalizations and deaths it is unlikely that any place is even close to a herd immunity threshold

That depends. Have you read the analysis by one of the authors of the study rather than the free-market libertarian news source that misinterprets it?https://twitter.com/profshanecrotty/status/1309170528889049089?s=19 …

I've read that article. It is both interesting and completely unrelated to the herd immunity argument in every way. No one is arguing that t-cells do not play a role in COVID-19 immunity, but as the AUTHOR OF THE STUDY YOU'RE CITING says, it means nothing for herd immunity

he actually says "Potential for cross-reactive immunity In one study, SARS-CoV-2-reactive CD4+ T cells were also identified in about 40 to 60% of unexposed individuals, suggesting cross-reactive T cell recognition between circulating ‘‘common cold’’ coronaviruses and SARS-CoV-2"
