I still love how many people propose a "Sweden model" for COVID-19 without even googling the country's policy to learn what they did

Like, sure, emulate the country's policy if you like. While there are downsides, at the very least it represents a consistent policy with clear aims. But if you don't even bother to check what that policy IS before saying we should all be like Sweden, I have no respect for you

I stand corrected! The policy is not as clear and consistent as you'd imagine even to people in Sweden 😕

I’m in Sweden and I’d say it’s anything but consistent and clear tbh

Well then, I stand corrected! From what I understand it was at least clear and consistent at the start?

Are you sure about this - what are those clear aims? I think I know, but at the very least I'm not sure the stated aims have always been clear or free of contradiction.

Can you really blame them when their media has been giving then horrible takes for months? It's been very obvious the last few months that the narrative has changed though. Like the business insider article trying to spinn it like restrictions are increasing when they have not

Yes, I am very grateful to you and other Swedes for setting me straight about the country these last few months, but you'd hope that people explicitly use your country as a roadmap they'd at least check out the Public Health Agency's website first...

Policy is one thing. Getting people to cooperate and follow recommendations is another. Sweden’s populace is generally more trusting of government and that is huge in implementing a plan.

However I do think swedes are too careless in following the guidelines. Lots of people who doesn't care at all in my opinion. But perhaps it would have been even worse elsewhere? I mean for example of how hard can it be to keep 2 meter distance when there is room for it?

Especially when statistics are changed every so often.. so they claim died "with covid" and fatalities are removed without reason , and 'self'testing is considered to be testing even if it is not representable way of getting a test elsewhere.. And death toll is rising again.
