To be fair, probably not a nail in the coffin per se. The study didn't have enough infections in the population to be sure that HCQ didn't work, and the confidence interval includes both a large benefit and a large detriment

That being said, I think we can safely say that it is increasingly unlikely that HCQ has a benefit COVID-19 prophylaxis, although it is still a possibility that we cannot entirely exclude

Rather wide range of possible effect sizes, this does not rule out a clinically meaningful effect, no burial of HCQ based on this as I see it (but I'm very sceptical in any case).pic.twitter.com/46csgk9vfx

Yes, it's true to say that there may be a small benefit not found in this study (despite the impressive size, the prevalence of COVID-19 in the final results was less than they had predicted, so their sample size was not quite adequate)

Unfortunately, you don't seem to have read the purpose of the study. "to evaluate whether hydroxychloroquine could prevent Covid-19 in high-risk healthcare workers" Incidence of COVID-19 is the primary endpoint, not "severity of disease".
