It is truly astonishing to see how many people are somehow believing this thread, that says that most COVID-19 deaths are "false positive" deaths because, and I'm serious, positive test numbers are correlated with death numbers

It seems to more or less agree that there is a small proportion of false positives that are then ironed out by a second test so functionally hardly any at all

We've had several false positives in Victoria, out of 18,000 cases. That we identify these suggests to me that the tests are very good. Recently Victoria has has 16,000 tests per day with 1 or 2 positive per day (and those real) That's a pretty low false positive rate.
