We’ve just had new rules introduced tonight. People like Morgan don’t want to give them a chance because they’re lockdown junkies.

I'm certainly not a lockdown junkie, but I do find myself in the astonishing position of having to agree with Piers Morgan. There is fairly good evidence at this point that the economic impact of uncontrolled viral spread is probably worse than that of a well-implemented lockdown

Lol. No, in fact as a relevant expert in this particular matter I can assure you my position is rather more well researched than you might imagine. If you're interested in the evidence, the International Monetary Fund report on COVID-19 responses makes for fascinating reading

In that case I will make you a deal my learned friend. I will read every word of the report if you will name your price in unintended consequences per covid death. Deal?

Only if you first name your price in unintended consequences per doubling of covid cases. How many jobs are you willing to sacrifice to let the disease run rampant?

Anyway, as much fun as it is to trade leading questions with insulting tubs of yeast extract, I've got better things to do this evening, so farewell and have a lovely day
