If it's treated as an urgency or emergency that's helpful. No need to panic unless ppl don't do what we all know needs to be done. How long can I be in panic mode & survive?

I've yet to see anyone panic. I've seen people who are concerned about this making an effort to be informed, I've seen them listen to and take the advice of the experts. Is this "panicking"? What on Earth are you seeing that validates using that term?

Sure. It’s not surprising but it’s still disappointing

Yes, and sewage testing looks to be a useful addition here. Sensitivity of (non-case-contact) community testing is uncertain. My guess (based on flutracking, PCR sens and symp fraction) is ~40% ... so agree not surprising if we missed a case or too (bummer though).

Do we know the proportion of 'true' asymptomatic in Australia? I haven't seen the data but may not have looked properly.

I think the more absurd thing is the border closure criteria.

Not panicking. So 3 is an unknown % of the underlying prevalence. How do we know that the situation is under control or not? I'd assume this means a lot of current cases are asymptomatic or declining to get tested. Is this something a change in policy can address?
