What causes different patterns of endemicity if not herd immunity? Do you think the pattern for covid will look like the measles (with 95% HIT) or the flu (with antigenic drift) or another disease? Is the pattern of transmission observed consistent with widespread reinfection?

Yes it would be good to get an answer to this. Covid Twitter seems to talk about the disease as if, absent a vaccine, it will circulate forever at pandemic-level impact, which seems pretty unique to any disease in recorded history.

Great clear explanation. You haven't said much about vaccines as part of longer term strategy? I know it's early days

Have any of these reports of re-infection been documented and studied? Yoh don't link a source for that.

same as the flu vaccine, give it to the most vulnerable and the people around them. Targeted vaccination could help lower the "herd immunity" threshold as well

What do you think of the Barrington Declaration and the MPs' petition in support of it?
