Surprised by this take. There have been many observational studies showing correlation between vitamin D and infection rate, hospitalization rate, and ICU rate. Now we have an RCT on ICU rate. Given the low cost and safety of D, why the intense skepticism?
-
Because correlation is not causation. We have one small RCT, involving massive amounts of vit d and with lots of issues. The data is interesting but no more at this stage.

anyone who is deficient should take D3 oil drops, always* most of the studies showing no benefit didn't test for deficiency and/or used too low a dose for too short a time to affect serum levels very much * and/or daily sunshine
-
In the months of April to September in the UK. Why oil?
