If there's a study I've missed, please let me know, but thus far we have one tiny, poorly controlled randomized trial, and a bucket of similar epidemiological studies with not much else

This is a real shame, because after 6 months it would be pretty trivial to have a good RCT of vitamin D supplementation but we have to work with what we've got and what we've got is not sufficient for any kind of definite answer
