Why do we eat such crap diets? It isn't: Time Money Access It is: Convenience Deliciousness Ubiquity I will shout: PEOPLE JUST DON'T LIKE TO COOK

Even if you do know how to cook it's time consuming. Chopping + shopping + cleaning up after. No one ever factors the last two in. And the more "fun" the recipe the more likely it is to need specialty ingredients or fussy prep or equipment.
-
And planning the meal before you even start chopping!

I really enjoy it. I really like cutting things into teeny neat pieces. It's a skill. I'm good at it. I find it relaxing. I realise that is not the case for most. And there are plenty of days when I can't be arsed. And the clearing up is ugh.

I love cooking and I'm good at it but I would give up chopping in a heartbeat if there were a way to do it without cleaning and paying attention to not slicing off my fingers

You can put meat in the pan or oven bit salt & pepper and is done and tastes good. Its the carbs you have to be creative with because they taste like cardboard

No problem here is there? Hardly boring or tedious watching this cook....https://twitter.com/LauraHillsLamb/status/1307983402784624645?s=20 …

Solution: take a cooking class and do mostly chopping, onions, carrots, whatever. Then get a decent knife and a sharpening stone. I am no chef, but I am now 10 times quicker. My best investment ever, really. Skills never blow a fuse or need replacement like appliances.

I have been making meals on the fly for the whole family every day for years. For me it is time to relax, doing something with my hands and extremely satisfying since every one is hungry and grateful.Even when I lived alone I ate like a king. My children are the same now.Tedious?

Frozen veggies. Canned beans, corn, and similar. Dried onions. Garlic paste. That's how people who don't have time and yet want to cook do. "Fresh" is a bullshit marketing term when you care about nutrition.
