Pretty simple - register at 18 (or just before). Turn up and give name+address verbally, get given voting forms. Vote with a pencil. The whole process takes 15 minutes and is held on a weekend to make it easier. Enjoy the sunshine and a democracy sausage afterwards

A democracy sausage? (The rest is interesting too, but...)

Googled it myself, and delighted this is a thing.

It is uniquely Australian and an absolute delight. Elections are quite fun here!
