A COVID-19 vaccine trial has been halted because of a (suspected) severe adverse reaction. This is: - not unexpected - why we run Phase 3 trials - A VERY GOOD THINGhttps://twitter.com/HelenBranswell/status/1303443741764661253 …

People are perhaps getting huffy about the timeline because people from the Oxford team were telling the press it would be ready by now...https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/1248868256833732608 …

I mean, if you read the article the scientist's quote is that a vaccine by autumn would be "just about possible", I think there's perhaps an element off press hype to people's expectations

Unfortunately that's not necessarily true in the US - coronavirus vaccine manufacturers have been exempted from legal liability for injury & death. https://sites.suffolk.edu/jhbl/2020/03/22/hhs-grants-broad-liability-immunity-against-future-claims-related-to-covid-19-countermeasures/ …

Sure, for complications that they can't know about. But if there is the slightest hint that their vaccine causes damage and they knew, I imagine their stock will fall dramatically
