I think one of the most misunderstood points about "herd immunity" is the word "immunity" If your scenario foresees COVID-19 becoming endemic it is not herd immunity

If you presume a strategy where there are eventually regular outbreaks of disease, it is not immunity

The point about "immunity" is that it requires people to be IMMUNE Not asymptomatic, not milder cases, IMMUNE as in they do not get the disease or at least do not spread it past themselves
