The point about "immunity" is that it requires people to be IMMUNE Not asymptomatic, not milder cases, IMMUNE as in they do not get the disease or at least do not spread it past themselves

Agree. The only way of knowing that herd immunity has been reached is after a full year with no mitigation. You need more information than just no epidemic during mitigation and during summer.
