Now, sure, academics are smart people, but it is factually incorrect to say "in a new study..." when you're referring to a narrative review or editorial

New? No. But I do think that GOOD narrative reviews are important to pull multiple threads together from individual pieces of work into cohesive theory.

Sure, and I think without expert opinions all we've got is meaningless numbers. But I keep seeing essentially opinion pieces by a handful of academics portrayed as "startling new evidence" and it's very silly and entirely wrong
