When QAnon conspiracy theories become the lead - here are the facts before you get to the Orwell-lite. That’s some dangerous tripe you’re messing with, Adam. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/technology/cdc-has-not-reduced-the-death-count-related-to-covid-19/2020/08/31/d4305f54-ebd8-11ea-bd08-1b10132b458f_story.html?outputType=amp …https://twitter.com/Adam_Creighton/status/1300615981279002625 …

I don't know what QAnon is but sorry which part of my column is "dangerous tripe"? Have you written on this topic recently?

Where to start! Your facts are wrong. Twitter removed the false and discredited assertion re the CDC (see my attached article above) because that’s NOT what the CDC said - so with no peg to hang on, not sure what to say about the rest of your piece.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm … I directly quoted the CDC website from their 26 August update. "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned". How is that wrong?

It's a fairly basic misunderstanding of how death recording processes work. In fact, 95%+ of COVID-19 deaths in the US have COVID-19 as the main (or underlying) cause. I explained in a piece:https://link.medium.com/TaoSqsMKr9
