I've become fairly worried about the effectiveness of global responses to serious situations. We really messed up Covid. What happens when something much more serious comes along? Other than that, I'm always impressed at the applied physics/engineering used in medicine.

It's worth noting that this article is talking about bacteriophages. Quorum sensing hasn't been shown for eukaryotic viruses as far as I know, but there will be mechanisms for sensing host responses like interferon-inducible promoters.
