Health Nerd Retweeted Dr. Stephen M. Hahn

Actually, still wrong. What you should've said is that the data are inadequate to make any statements about the benefits of convalescent plasma, and that actual clinical trials are needed to make any decisionshttps://twitter.com/SteveFDA/status/1298071620414824452 …

I have been criticized for remarks I made Sunday night about the benefits of convalescent plasma. The criticism is entirely justified. What I should have said better is that the data show a relative risk reduction not an absolute risk reduction.

If this isn't politically motivated, it appears that the scientists at the U.S. FDA are incapable of reading and understanding scientific research Seems unlikely to me!

The data are fine to make a common sense decision. only the murderous would demand more evidence

The data show a favorable trend at higher plasma doses Still unclear when plasma provides real benefit (is it early when some have high viral loads? does it help those at higher risk?) So a lot of data needs to gathered/analyzed But perfection can't be the enemy of the good!
