The current excuse is that US is too unique; size, diversity, etc. etc. Basically American exceptionalism as an excuse. Same as gun control, healthcare, education, wealth disparity, etc. Go-to excuse of those defending status quo. Sad state of affairs.

Yes. However the US via voting with their feet has chosen to “push” through with 70-80% mask compliance and basic social distancing. It’s cultural. Difficult to understand but true.
