I hope you would only want to do this in order to identify associated biases, or the best people to talk to about how different diseases present in different races and cultures. Accuracy is another matter. Why not just ask them?

This is exactly what an AI would do, maybe having humans to all agree on a race is more accurate. The concept of race comes from human prejudice and heuristics, so I actually agree with this as a research method.

Also what about mixed race doctors? You can be mixed but look more like one race, and identify more with that race because of how people treat you because of it.

So let's say instead they asked doctors to specify their race. It would be harder to show links between the doctor's "perceived race" and that of the child's.
