This seems like a rapid response to the NY Times article yesterday that was a bit critical of testing 53,000 people with a scarce product and not doing it carefully enough to know how well it works yet.

If the signal had been this strong wouldn’t the Recovery trial have picked this up by now? Also the fact that it’s in the WSJ is something of a factor in encouraging scepticism.

1) I have not seen the Recovery trial on convalescent. 2) this trial postulates a strong dose-response relation which Recovery may not have been designed to pick up and 3) this trial is an early administration. It is from Mayo, details will be out, at some point.
