I CALL SHENANIGANS - self-reported online survey (people overestimate height!) - problematic statistics - no confirmation of diagnosis of COVID-19 - absolute risk increase was small - tall people are probably finehttps://twitter.com/AmyThunig/status/1288350851426209792 …

Going to print this and put it up beside my bed so I can calm myself before I try and fall asleep tonight haha Also - do you think that people are prone to lying about being tall? I reckon that could be a thing, which could impact the results

From memory, yes. People like being tall, just like they lie about how much they weigh!

Lol. Looked it up, every study I can find says it's an issue for both men and women, apparently everyone wants to be a little taller

Ok haha 6ft just raised a lot of alarm bells! I'll put my anecdata back on the shelf next to my epidemiology armchair.

Actually, just found this that's much bigger than the other studies and showed women under reported weight but mostly correctly reported heighthttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3511620/ …

(But no comparison with men so...dunno? Looks like there are probably some issues but maybe a bigger problem for dudes)
