I guess that's a good point, although I'd be a bit worried if the same was true for hospital wards that regularly close for deep cleaning these days

For schools and the like, I expect it’s what probably should happen regularly, ie wiping down surfaces, but doesn’t.

I assume they wipe every surface with disinfectant, instead of just cleaning horizontal surfaces, some just by dusting. Includes cleaning employee's chairs, keyboards and mice, and phones (if provided)

In at least one job I would regularly clean my cleaned desk after coming home too many times with ruined shirt cuffs

At the hospital I work at regular cleaning seems to mean ‘a lick and a promise’ . Perhaps deep cleaning is proper cleaning the old fashioned way
