Unfortunately, it is a quite dangerous virus, still not well understood. The long term damage is just starting to emerge.

I think we have sufficient data at this point to conclude that there almost certainly are long-term risks unique to COVID. The question is how many people are impacted and how long will they last

Agree, Gid. Critical illness leaves an indelible mark on the body regardless of what flavor, but the unique chronic sequelae of this virus have yet to be elucidated. It is clear there is a tropism for many organs, but to what extent the damage lingers is anyone's guess.
