An early cell study certainly hinted at neurotropism https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanmic/article/PIIS2666-5247(20)30004-5/fulltext …. But I wonder if nasal congestion has masked underlying effects on the sense smell in influenza. I hope following this pandemic there’s an uptick in research across a range of common viral diseases
