Your regular reminder that we've known for some time that SARS-CoV-2 isn't "airborne" in the colloquial sense, the debate is about communication rather than science

When you say 'airborne", do you mean aerosol?

He is talking about the “airborne” in the medical sense, i.e. will stay in the air indefinitely. COVID is not that but is spread by aerosol or droplet transmission which will fall to the ground eventually.

Wait. I've read your tweet again. So covid IS spread by both aerosol and droplets but is not airborne in the medical sense. Is that it? I'm confused. Sorry. Even though it is not airborne it will fall to the ground eventually. ?? From where?

Exactly, you’re not confused. It is carried in the moisture from your breath or a cough/sneeze, since it is “wrapped” in this liquid, it will fall to the ground before long as opposed to something like measles, which is airborne, and will float in the air for a very long time.

Try not to read too much info this kind of stuff. These are unconfirmed & sometimes sensationalized reports. The thought amongst the scientific community is that the virus doesn’t remain infectious in the air for a long time. They are still learning but that’s their best guess.
