All things equal, of course. But most (all?) gyms have a booking system limiting how many people are there at once and have banned close contact exercises. My gym’s probably an anomaly, it’s a smaller independent one. Would be harder at chain gyms

Have you been to a gym in Norway vs a grocery store? It seems that everyone in the gym is taking precautions, following rules and making sure everyone else follows the rules. The grocery stores are just a endless mess of people not giving a damn about any rules.
Physical work with heavy breathing is a big difference between shopping and going to the gym. Big difference in the risk of viral shedding.
