Health Nerd Retweeted The Daily Telegraph

It remains a travesty that people can sell total nonsense that is implied to treat health problems without the slightest shred of evidence that it works for anythinghttps://twitter.com/dailytelegraph/status/1277134917588017153 …

Selling supplements and wellness is much easier without the regulatory requirements faced by the pharmaceutical companies, which is why it is perfect business for the anti-vaccine campaigners whose are making a tidy profit from their activism. HERE’S HOW https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/australian-antivaccine-activists-cashing-in-on-covid19-pandemic/news-story/194c917ae18a4056ffe3f7aef8055e80 …

The obvious solution to this is fairly simple - place the burden of proof on supplements and the like If people want to sell this crap, let's get THEM to prove it works first!

Oh, they have “evidence.” And the “evidence” is being peddled by the same people that sell the treatments. I can’t tell you how many times I start to read garbage, trying to keep an open mind and all, surrounded by a dozen links to books and miracle cures. It boggles the mind.

For instance someone referred me to a link proving 5g cell towers were responsible for the pandemic and there is no virus. Since the overlay of cell towers obviously refutes this nonsense, they added exosomes and something about fear induced response. All next to ads for vitamins

If under the current system, the word “may”, absolves the manufacturer of the necessity to provide evidence for claims of health benefits, then the system needs to change.

A little identical to mainstream drugs where evidence is skewed and tempered with. You have nations that believe in magic potions. The vitamin C crowd is identical to aspririn crowd in their core beliefs.

My neurologist suggested I take a combination of supplements to help my migraines - there’s a shred of evidence. I get embarrassed when I have to buy them 😬

This makes me so mad, there is real harm in selling fake cures, and not just in people wasting their money.

Especially Pharmacists - in Canada the Homeopathy aisle will soon overtake the rest of the store!
