I would have thought ICU is a pretty widely known acronym.

I'm the last person to support Ron DeSantis, but the situation in Florida is being misreported. Here's an article from the local NPR radio station: https://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/post/florida-hospitals-have-sufficient-capacity-coronavirus-cases-surge-officials-report … Also, I put together these charts of Florida's hospitalizations and deaths:pic.twitter.com/ExMjQjQaTr

For context, here are a) the equivalent charts for New York State. One difference is that for Florida I had to use 7-day averages due to heavy day-of week effects but wasn't nec for NY. (Oddly, the FL numbers even seem to exhibit some 14 day periodicity , but whatever)pic.twitter.com/y43KZJwr74

Not a defense of Gov. Desantis's mismanagement, but this is a valid statement. It's not uncommon for patients who do not require ICU-level care to be in the ICU (e.g., blocked from transfer out or allowed in due to excess demand for beds at a lower LOC).
