For older people. Not for children. The flu kills almost a hundred times as many kids as covid.

Comparatively in children, where both risks are low, maybe flu is riskier. But where COVID is riskier, the death rates are huge. Not sure how it all factors out once you add on that the average COVID death loses just 3 QALYs!!

The argument Ive been presented with often that I dont know answer to is “overall, yes, it is much more deadly but in kids and people under x years old, especially if previously healthy, IFR is the same between covid and flu”. Any truth to this? Gut tells me no but cant find data
