I'm sure we could argue about whether the interventions worked or not, but regardless saying "the models were wrong" when we took action to change the modeled outcomes is a very silly thing to say

Actually it isn't. Think of it like seatbelts - if I say you'll die if you crash at 100mph without a seatbelt, and you then wear one, crash, and survive, was I wrong or are seatbelts potentially effective?
