I think "debunked" is a pretty accurate description - a clearly biased sample, shoddy statistical analysis (unless they've cleaned it up since then) and the use of a test (Hangzhou Biotest) that has now been withdrawn by the FDA.

But more generally, don't you need to adjust for demographics of the population that was studied given the dramatic variation in IFR based on age? Once you add as-yet uncounted excess mortality & impact of right-censoring for mortality, I'm guessing you end up more like 0.75%
