Well this one has definitely changed the dynamic! Singapore has had a huge outbreak, Indonesia as well, Peru, Mexico...a lot of equatorial countries with lots of Sun doing poorly rn unfortunately

Myriad reasons for that - but you need to know the mechanisms for it - epidemiology always falls at the first fence -

The problem is that mechanisms are great until you get to the complexity of the real world. Most tested plausible mechanisms - with in vitro and in vivo models showing benefits - fail when tested in actual people. Both sides are important!

Sunny countries don't necessarily have higher vitamin d, if they avoid being in the sun they'll still be low, while countries with little sun know they're deficient and take supplements
