The basic story - two studies correlated PAST measurements of Vitamin D levels with CURRENT COVID-19 deaths and concluded that it might be implicated This is such staggering nonsense I don't know where to start...

Did people who died from the disease actually HAVE low Vit D levels? Was this the case BEFORE the disease onset? What confounding factors might be at play? We have NO IDEA!!! Epidemiological nonsense

And yet, hundreds of articles and I've already been told by several people that they're taking supplemental Vit D because of it

There's some evidence from studies of Vit D being useful for OTHER respiratory infection, but many of these studies looked at people with asthma and it's hard to know if this would transfer to infection with COVID-19

It's also worth noting that there doesn't seem to be any good evidence of Vitamin D protecting against DEATH from infection, which is really what we care about

Blog is now up, there were even more studies out there any some of them were even worse somehowhttps://medium.com/the-method/should-you-take-a-vitamin-d-supplement-for-covid-19-63d922f24953 …

Sure thing. There's some correlative research, but it has very significant limitations. For example, in the Indonesian study the 'normal' Vit D group were much healthier in every way than either the insufficient or deficient groups, and a the statistical analysis barely...

ScotGov have advised upping Vitamin D year round (we’re usually advised to take it only during the winter months) but this is due to extensive time indoors during lockdown rather than for acute symptoms of any illness.

The relative size of the D shouldn't matter should it?
