We had the exact same issue in Australia, but since we have less than 1/6th the states of the U.S. I think it's been a matter of scale. Lots of confusion between areas, but not nearly as impactful

For all its downsides, the Swedish model requires a coordinated govt response and significant community buy-in, and the U.S. appears to have the opposite of both of those right now
