Worth noting that all of this is also true for any company large enough government or not

My theory is that a bunch of people who’ve based their whole lives on being smart, and thinking they should be running things because they’re smart, keep losing to Trump and his idiot/criminal associates. It’s easier to take losing to a supervillain than losing to ... that.

That happens in politicians' offices. "Government" per se is separate from the political layer. If anything, government can be hamstrung by its own commitment to transparency, ie. they save everything but don't dedicate resources necessary to manage files.

#rubyprincessclusterfuck being the most recent and deadly example of miscommunication and incompetence.

anyone who's worked with a governmental entity for any reasonable about of time (read: one single day) would know they are not capable of the level of coordination required to carry out a conspiracy

I've worked for several governments and this is nonsense. They can be slow, though.

And then there is also institutional blindness and harm from groupthink, shared myths and lack of diversity. Unconscious collectively organised harm.

A friend recently told me you can tell conspiracy theorists have never done any project management. It’s herding cats to get some people to do what’s needed, let alone whole govt depts & keeping it ‘secret’ .

This is a hysterically accurate portrayal of working in govt if you haven’t yet watched: https://youtu.be/Z4ZEy7YfHg0 . Our provincial govt actually recently had a logo issue like in one of the episodes 🤦🏽‍♀️
