Oh that is literally one of the main go-to claims of the Swedish defence - that their IFR is much much lower than other countries. Really? Why? How? More rhetorical gymnastics ensue.

It seems reasonable to assume that the population death rate (so far) in NYC is a good lower bound on the IFR. So 0.2% would be very optimistic on that basis. Is that a fair conclusion?
