What do you say to those who argue that we are just delaying the inevitable? I’m not siding with them by any means, I’m just confused as to what the alternatives are at this point.

Our government has pointed out that allowing cases to rise slowly instead of quickly is giving time for our healthcare system to build up its capacity to take care of people (& including more PPE for staff) so that it doesn’t become overwhelmed and collapse.

expressions of certainty over unknowns are not convincing. No one ever beat covid-19, no one ever 'rebooted' a modern society. Even if reboot is right there can only be uncertainty about long-term public health effects. Specified uncertainty more convincing than certainty on this
