Yes this annoyed me as well. Also, screened at presentation for delivery or during delivery? If the latter, could've been infected in hospital but not yet showing symptoms!

Most hospitals are moving to testing at presentation to L&D - also, not sure what you mean by it being nosocomial if + at delivery- usually thats not going to be more than 24 hours after admission..

Sorry, to clarify I meant screened at any point in their admission (which could be a bit longer than 24 hours) - given that it's just correspondence, the text doesn't make this clear

For sure- my gut says (just based off what is being recommended for L&D) they did it upon admission, as they have to have different process in place if mom is + to reduce exposure for the baby.

Actually, re-reading the text it does sound as if the asymptomatic women were tested at some point during their admission rather than at presentation, because the authors do distinguish the two, but the language is vague
