Well you say that its the best but did you at least take each explanation that you've ever seen, one by one and look into the source, then critique each explanation for logical fallacies, cognitive distortions and plain inaccuracies?

No it is a rather self-important load of bunk. As a professional researcher, that description is not followed by the research community and appears intended to belittle those unaware of its dubiousness. No serious researcher writes abstracts on all the articles they read.

As for the suggestion that in order to believe a research article you have to do an independent analysis on the results from other studies. That is done by a handful of people (mostly grad students) or post-docs in need of a meta-anaysis for their CV.
