You know more than me & most that will reply. But you’re wrong & its irresponsible to say otherwise. PPE to Med Workers first, sure. But a homemade mask even a bandana is better than nothing. It may not filter out 95%,but its better than 0% something when dealing w/ 100K+ deaths

I just shared this with my colleagues in response to a video that showed droplets around people sneezing or talking. I noticed the droplets were within 1m, matching your article.

Bookmarked for later...as it is late. However it is studies such as these that are starting to have me concerned about our understanding of the transmission and the adequacy of our PPE. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.23.20039446v2.full.pdf …

Appreciate your research. I gotta disagree. You do not have a strong case for “why wearing masks doesn’t work.” You’re mostly pointing out the evidence for them working “isn’t clear.” Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Cant ignore masks when there’s little downside.

You also made no mention of viral load. Even if everyone is too dumb to put on an N95 (shitty assumption—especially when everyone has YouTube), improper wear or use of even a scarf, will reduce viral load if exposed—improving prognosis (less initial
easier on immune system)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If, as you say, there's a rationale for symptomatic individuals wearing masks, that rationale would also hold for asymptomatic individuals? If there's no way to know who is asymptomatic (possibly 25% of infected), then widespread mask use is indicated?https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/31/health/coronavirus-asymptomatic-transmission.html …

Still that word in your conclusion: probably. Dr.? It is not a religious war, it's statistical math.
