We KNOW that masks are unlikely to prevent community acquired infections. THAT'S what we care about, not some statistics on particulate movement #COVID19

AT BEST we can say that there's very low quality evidence that highly adherent mask use may modestly reduce the likelihood of infection for people wearing them, although this has not been demonstrated in the majority of trials

You don’t know this. They are widely used in the places that have controlled spread - HK China Singapore Taiwan. Not the only measure there by far but still important, and some never implemented total lockdown either, so probably a factor

The best analogy I have heard (yet) about masks is they are like seatbelts, certainly not going to keep you 100% safe, they do a lot of good. The countries that have slowed the spread have done well w masks
