Today's #COVID19 graphs for Australia. The rate has flattened out a lot, which is a very good sign, but still has a ways to go before we're under control As before, red line at 10%, maroon line is the linear trend for the last 2 weekspic.twitter.com/kMpHy5WPNZ

thoughts on true rate of infection not being captured due to criteria not being aimed at community transmission, vs the drop in overseas visitors due to new travel restrictions (who the criteria is mainly aimed at)?

We definitely aren't capturing the 'true' number of infections, but I think the rationale for there being widespread community transmission that's totally invisible is not strong

There is probably an element of community transmission being missed, but given the low numbers of hospitalizations from unknown sources, it's unlikely that you'd see huge numbers Might change in the future tho, I suspect widespread community testing will be rolled out soon

Yeah seeing some interesting tactics in Vic - testing every 5th person in queue at the clinics regardless of whether they fit criteria. Agree, unlikely there are gigantic numbers of com transmission being missed. would've seen them in hospital. But 3 week lag can be deceptive.

Oh I have heard some crazy numbers spouted about the 'true'number of aussie cases. I can send you some graphs. I hear you love those.
