      People are getting really mad about it, I think because it really feels like something you can do to save yourself Challenge is, best evidence doesn't support use by regular people in day-to-day so it's a toughie

      But then it's certainly true that masks, used properly and diligently, can prevent the risk of infection. So it becomes a question of whether people can use masks diligently (i.e. any time infection is possible, take on/off correctly etc) Best evidence suggests no

          Problem is, everyone thinks that THEY are the exception. No one else can use masks properly, but THEY are comfortable with having a surgical mask on every waking hour for the next 3-6 months, not breaking infection control measures etc

          I mean, I'm pretty smart and healthcare savvy, and I haven't brought masks because I know for a fact that I'd fail and use them improperly and then I'd have wasted masks for no good reason

          as frequently as I see people not being aware of their proximity to others in public (this morning I yelled at a guy on the sidewalk who didn't give way to an old lady being pushed in a wheel chair), I can't say I have high expectations
