As far as I know heard immunity has never prevented outbreaks. At best a few people get saved by random chance. I mean that's still great, but it is not very preventative without crazy high immunized threshold of which we can never hit. Please do write one. I'd like to read it

Don’t you need an effective vaccine first to produce herd immunity. Or you can produce herd immunity at the cost of millions of deaths and millions of sick people (some who will carry a diminished respiratory system to their grave)?
