      I don't understand then why models that say schools should be kept open should be accepted, when they are also based on assumptions with little evidence.

      Different problem. Negative impact of school closures is very obvious - benefits are murkier. Unclear whether it will improve the situation, and some evidence from China that it can actually encourage spread

      My problem is that hundreds of thousands of teachers are forced to enter a situation that may cost their lives to save negative impacts elsewhere.

          Yes, I agree with that. And the other way as well. Keeping them open is not as clear cut as some people think either.

          There's actually a middle ground here which is where we're actually heading in practice while people argue the toss. Schools minimally open for those that need to be cared for, allowing teachers at greatest risk to stay home.

          On that note, I really see the issue that most people have with scientific information. They think that the type of uncertainty we think about with data equates to confusion, and the discussion we just had as a disagreement in terms of a fight. We need to ensure we combat this.
